The follow list should not be considered complete and it will be updated as more opportunities open throughout the year. These are scholarships that have been sent to me for distribution to GES students. Please read each carefully to determine if you qualify. Also make sure you check the Financial Aid section of the Post Secondary school website you are attending. All Institutions have awards available for 1st year students.

This is a newly created resource from Interior Health.
It is a guide for Financial Support for Aboriginal Students (see attached). School can be expensive and they are hoping that this resource can help students overcome the financial burden of education. |

The Beedie Luminaries Scholarship is for students with potential who are facing financial adversity. Students who are smart, but constrained by circumstance. Students who are resilient and gritty. Students who are ready to make a positive change in their lives.

Full-time students employed in BC agriculture, food, beverage, or seafood processing, fishing, and aquaculture sectors during the summer season are eligible to apply for a bursary of up to $3,000.

The Central Okanagan Foundation Volunteer Spirit Scholarship Fund offers financial support to a current resident of the Central Okanagan region who is, or has recently been, an active volunteer either in a Canadian community or internationally. The purpose of the scholarship is to assist with qualified post-secondary education. Two, $3,000 scholarships are available to residents of the Central Okanagan.

The Evan Guthrie Fund is aimed at grade 12 student-athletes. The fund is in place to recognize an athlete’s journey through sport and education. The goal of the fund is to help relieve some financial tension for the student-athlete in order to allow them to focus on their sport and educational goals. There will be two $500 scholarships available.

The KSER Scholarship Fund offers a helping hand by supporting Grade 12 student-athletes graduating from School District 23 on their pursuit of excellence in athletics and academics. The KSER Scholarship Fund’s mission is to help relieve some of the financial burden associated with fully committing heart-and-soul into a career objective, whether it be athletic, academic, or both. There will be two $2,500 scholarships available.

The Rotary Club of Lake Country is offering Bursaries to graduating Lake Country high school students at George Elliott Secondary School, who are enrolling in an accredited academic or trades program in the 2024-25 school year. Bursaries will have a minimum value of $1000.

Each year BCSTA selects graduating B.C. public school students who have displayed exemplary citizenship within their school and community as recipients of the Scholarships for Student Citizenship.

Knights of Columbus is pleased to announce that it will again be offering bursaries to students who are graduating from high school this year and who are planning to attend an accredited post-secondary school in BC. All applications must be received on or before May 15th to be considered.

The Horatio Alger Association of Canada wants to support the next generation of workers who will contribute to the Canadian economy across a wide variety of vocational and technical sectors. Scholarships of up to $3,000 are available for 25 deserving applicants who display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity and are pursuing paths to employment.

CHBA-CO is launching a $2,000 ‘Women in Construction’ award.
Any person self-identifying as a woman is eligible to enter for this award. The process is a simple survey, followed by a selection by the committee. The student can be at any point in the program, as the funds are intended to be flexible to eliminate any barriers that may cause stress for a student entering or looking to complete their trades schooling. |
